What is Reconciliation and why is it necessary?
In this episode, we will be curious about the work of Reconciliation, why it's not just 'important' but necessary and how we came to be in this country known as Canada. Sharing about the unique relationship not only the Crown but all settlers of Canada have with First Peoples. Included in this episode will be understanding the Papas Bull, Doctrine of Discovery and Terra Nullius, which is embedded into the Crown's stance in relation to First Nations and their citizens, as well as Section 35 and Title and Rights. We will also discuss what Reconciliation is not, the need to stop performative and tick-boxing spaces of reconciliation, denialism and Pretend-Indians.
